Dr. F. King Alexander
Dr. F. King Alexander, President of California State University Long Beach, serves as an Honorary Governor. Prior to coming to Cal State in November 2005, Dr. Alexander was President of Murray State University in Kentucky. He also serves as a faculty affiliate at Cornell University's prestigious Higher Education Research Institute and a Faculty Foundation Fellow at Harris Manchester College at the University of Oxford. Dr. Alexander has had several of his research projects published over the years. |

Helene Ansel Helene Ansel has worked for Council members Jenny Oropeza and Evan Braude. She has been an active member of the community for the past ten years and is currently a Board member of the Legal Aid Grand Cru, Project BLAST, Leadership Long Beach, and the Long Beach Conservation Corp. |

Ed Arnold
Ed Arnold is an LBCC alumnus. He is principal of Arnold and Associates, a Long Beach based property management and development firm. Ed retired as a captain with the Los Angeles Fire Department after 22 years. He has the distinction of graduating from the first Paramedic Class for the City of Los Angeles.

Bill Barnes
LBCC alumnus Bill Barnes has devoted most of his professional life to Long Beach City College. He has served in a number of administrative position at LBCC culminating as Provost of the Pacific Coast Campus. Bill was one of the original board members and has spent his retired life encouraging participation both financial and moral. |

LBCC Alumna, Dr. Martha Molina Bernadett is a physician and vice president of Molina Health Care, Inc. Her special interest is continuing the fine programs in the Nursing and Allied Health departments at Long Beach City College. |

Kristin Biale-Gonda Kristin Biale-Gonda recently joined the Foundation Board of Governors as the Boeing representative. Kristin is a member of the Leadership team for The Boeing Company in Long Beach and has financial responsibility for the Company's Commercial Aviation Services business in Long Beach. She provides managerial oversight, process improvements, personnel development and growth for over 70 staff and managers. In the recent past, Kristin was also responsible for providing financial leadership for Boeing's commercial aircraft freighter conversion businesses. Kristin has held management positions in Strategy Integration, Marketing and Business Development. Kristin balances work and family. She and her husband have three children. Kristin is an active parent in the South Coast YMCA, helping to shape the before and after school programs. Kristin holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from California State University Fullerton and MBA from Claremont Graduate University. |

Dr. Frank Blair, Jr. Dr. Frank Blair, Jr. is a retired dentist and LBCC alumnus. He is proud that not only he and his wife, Ruth, attended LBCC but also most of their children. Frank has been very active in the community contributing to the betterment of Catalina Island, Belmont Shore, Community Hospital of LB and the Long Beach Schools. He serves on the scholarship committee. |

Lorain Brault
LBCC Alumna G. Lorain Brault, MS, RNP, served as Director of Health Services at Fullerton College from 1999 to 2006. She has spent thirty years in health care administration and education. She served as Chairman of the Board of the California Association for Health Services at Home, State President for Health Service Administration of California Community Colleges and was appointed to the National Health and Human Services Commission on the Nursing Shortage. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the City of Long Beach Public Health Department and has been Chairman of that Board for two years. |

Dr. Byron Breland
Dr. Byron Breland serves as the Associate Vice President of the Pacific Coast Campus of Long Beach City College where he is responsible for making sure that the instructional, student services, and administrative operations of the Pacific Coast Campus function effectively.
Dr. Clift Breland holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Consumer Economics, and a Master of Science degree in Family Studies from the University of Maryland, College Park. He also has a Master of Science degree in Education and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Counseling Psychology, both from the University of Southern California. |

Long Beach resident, Eric P. Brown is Senior Vice President of Western Division Operations for Charter Communications, Inc. A board member of the National Association for Minorities in Communications Foundation, Mr. Brown also serves on the executive board of the California Cable and Telecommunications Association, the African American Adoption Agency, and the Long Beach Library Foundation. Before graduating from UCLA, Mr. Brown was four time All-American on their track and field team. He earned a master's degree in business administration from the Darden School of Business Management at the University of Virginia. |

He serves on the Board of the Pacific Coast Campus Vocational Associates because he understands the importance of promoting academic excellence in the trades. Blanche Cannady Blanche Brewster Cannady, past president of the LBCC Foundation Board of Governors, retired from Long Beach Unified School District having served as teacher, elementary school principal and Assistant Superintendent, Elementary Division. She has also served as an hourly instructor at LBCC and as Commissioner on the Personnel Commission, LBCC. She is affiliated with Children's Benefit League, Long Beach Memorial Women's Hospital League, Soroptimist International of Long Beach, Steel Magnolias, CAMEO Professional Auxiliary of Assistance League of Long Beach, Eta Chapter, Delta Kappa Gamma and Volunteer Services of Long Beach Memorial Medical Center. |

Douglas Carpenter Douglas Carpenter, President of Paragon Steel in Long Beach, founded the company with a partner over 20 years ago. He is on the Board of Directors for the Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, formerly on the board of the Long Beach Child Guidance Center, The Rotary Club of Long Beach, and BBL Forum. Mr. Carpenter is currently a member of the Pacific Circle of the Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific, and a member of Metal Service Center Institute. He has resided in Long Beach for over 30 years. |

Esther Cho Esther Cho is a ninth year attorney at the firm of Keesal, Young & Logan in Long Beach, California. Her law practice consists primarily of representing stock brokerage and investment banking firms and their employeesin a wide array of litigation. She enjoys being a litigator because it has allowed her to hone both her analytical skills and her "people" skills. Esther is also very involved at Cross Community Church, located in Irvine, California where her husband serves as the lead pastor. She is a member of the church's praise band. Leading people in making music is one of her passions. Even a greater passion is being a mom to her eighteen month old daughter, Lucy, who has been the greatest blessing. Esther hopes that her experience as an attorney and a mother as well as her commitment to the community will be helpful to the Foundation's Board. |

Maria Cochran
Maria Cochran, lifelong resident of Long Beach, and former LBCC Foundation "Gateway to Greatness" fundraising Manager, now works as Director of Development at Dramatic Results in Signal Hill. She has received the outstanding member award from the John Tracy Clinic League, and the "Whale of a Job" award from the Junior League of Long Beach. She is a new member of Cameo and is a current member of the Golden Key International Society. Formerly, Maria was Vice President of the Long Beach Day Nursery, Treasurer and Vice President of Junior League of Long Beach, board member and Crescendo Chair of the Long Beach Symphony Orchestra and board member Dramatic Results. She is an LBCC Alumna. |

Alumnus Mark Curtis is a past-President of the LBCC Foundation and a member of the President's Circle. He serves on the Foundation Finance Committee and also served as chair of the successful Measure E Bond Campaign for Long Beach City College.
